We love to use the green chili salt on everything that you would normally use salt on, but you want to deepen the flavor and add a little kick.
It tastes great on popcorn, steak, chicken, fish, soups, stews, beans and vegetables.
Green Chili Salt rimmed skinny margarita
Fill your shaker with ice
2 oz of silver tequila
Juice of 1 lime (about 3/4 oz lime juice)
1/2 lime squeezed in and then included in the mix
2 to 4 slices of fresh jalapeno
3/4 oz agave nectar
Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds
Rub a lime around the rim of your glass and then dip the rim in "Down the Hatch" green chili salt
Pour the marg in the rimmed glass and enjoy
Blood Orange and Mezcal Sour
In a shaker with ice
1.5 oz silver tequila
.5 oz mezcal
1 oz aqua faba (garbanzo bean juice) (you can substitute an egg white)
Squeeze in the fresh juice from
1/2 of a blood orange and 1/2 of a lime
.5 oz agave nectar
1/4 tsp Down the Hatch green chili salt
Shake vigorously for 30 seconds
Rub some of the lime on the rim
Pour some Down the Hatch on a plate or napkin and dip the rim in it
Strain the mixture into the rimmed glass
Garnish with a slice of blood orange
